Experience shipping a turbo

Any on have any advice on who to use, and how to package a turbo?

I've heard of some bad experiences, just wondering if there are any tips as to how to get them where they need to go withought migrating through the box they are in.

I boxed a turbo for Sean Morris about 3 weeks ago and he just had me line the bottom of the box with another falt piece of cardboard. I just used bubble wrap and a bunch of other packing material around the turbos. Then i used a lot of clear tape around the box.

Ditto this. I just shipped one of the spare turbos from my car to a friend in Mass. and did the same thing...he said he got it in tact and no worse for wear.

I had mine shipped to me the same way. The only thing i would suggest is use bubble wrap or some padding rather than the styrofoam balls or whatever they're called. They're a bitch to suck out of the inside of the turbo.

just don't use styrofoam peanuts. I hate digging those damn things out of every crack and crevise.

If you're near a UPS shipping station they have that nifty expanding foamy crap that works awesome (oficially called foam-in-place packaging). Costs about 3 bucks and locks the turbo in so tight you could throw it off a plane and it'd survive.

Nothing wrong with styrofoam peanuts provided the item is sealed in a plastic bag first...

I had a turbo shipped to me in a cardboard box with the turbo in a plastic bag, form-fitted foam on top and bottom of the turbo, and an extra flat piece of cardboard on top and bottom of the foam. It was shipped Fed-Ex and arrived just fine.

i shipped a pte.60 to mike renz fed-ex and it arrived to him looking like it had been thrown out of an airplane. all dented up and the shaft wobbled and would hit the compressor cover(box completely destroyed). took alot of fighting and climbing the ladder to get those bastards to pay for it even though i bought insurance on it when it was shipped. my advice.....go ups!
