Re: exhaust manifold markings????

According to my Dorman rep.....there was (for a brief period of time) a plan to reproduce the Syclone/Typhoon manifolds (just manifolds, not crossover). According to him, this was around 1996 (typical ~ 5 years past first appearance) and there were some masters created for fitment testing. He said sets....as in multiple sets (How many? I dunno.). He said that he wasn't aware of what happened to them as he was going off of the paper trail.

Wonder if some trickled out into the public?

I sold about 8 or 10 sets back to GM parts in 95' or 96', I think they were running short of them at that time

I'm betting this is a proto... there's a fair amount of stuff that leaked out to the public.

Re: exhaust manifold markings????

I just check the 3 spare sets that I have and they all have the PAS marking and the finish inside the turbo mounting ports is not as smooth as yours. Can you tell if there is any porting work done on these? TIA

Re: exhaust manifold markings????

nothing appears to be done, it looks like there was egt ports in them at one time if you look at the drivers manifold you can see where 2 on them were, Its a perfect repair as I didnt notice it until I gave them a acid bath to clean them

Given that info, all the more likely these were protos.

There's a set of manifolds floating around local to me that came from PAS and have air injection ports on them.
