Exclusively Mobile 1 oil?

Hey Guys,
Is Mobile 1 really the only oil I can/should use in my Typhoon? What are the downfalls of using other oils such as Pennzoil? I appreciate any light you all can shine on the subject.
Thanks in advance,
Eddie.

Hi eddie

the turbos make a ton of heat which is really hard on stuff. the synthetic oil holds up quite a bit better than crude under high heat so it's a good idea to spring for it. look for it in walmart in 5 quart jugs. sometimes it's on sale that way. I like the mobil 1 filter too. they're supposed to do a better job with the synthetic. you can get em at autozone for a couple of bucks more that a good regular filter. you don't have to use it but it should help in the longrun. you could also use another brand of syntheric like royal purple or red line but they are both quite a bit higher. quaker state has a synthetic too but I wouldn't use anything QS makes. castrol is not a true synthetic but a blend. if you use synthetic use the good stuff. also, if your truck hasn't been running synthetic and has a lot of miles on it and you switch it may blow a little oil because the synthetic is thinner and more slippery. check with them and see what they say about switching to a high mileage engine. it won't hurt anything if you use it but you will blow it out worse.

mobil 1 is a good product and the most widely available. red line is maybe a little better but much more expensive. I use mobil 1 oil, automatic tf, and gear lube. I don't do the extended mileage between changes and change it more frequently. and If I didn't think it was better I wouldn't use it. My stokes built bowtie cost about 25K. that's not the cost of the truck but just the motor. I hope this is useful to you.

now next question is...which one do I use??????????

I'm also using Mobil 1 only. Motor oil, ATF, Gear fluid, Brake fluid...

In the engine I usualy change it twice a year (I'm not driving the Sy more than 1000 miles a year).

BTW, Less! Why don't you change that avatar? You went faster than this, right? :D

Went to Pep Boys...

Went to Pep Boys...

I went to Pep Boys... there were three different selections of Mobile 1. (1. Enhanced Fuel Economy Formula, (2. High mileage Formula, and (3. Multi Vehicle Use Formula. I narrowed my selection down to #'s 2 and 3 as fuel economy is not of any concern. My Typhoon has 90,000 miles on it, but I don't know if it's in need of a high mileage formula. Is everyone else out there using Mobile1 10W-30 Multi Vehicle Formula? Sorry for harping on the subject, but oil in the engine is like blood in my veins.
Thanks a lot,
Eddie.

pep boys is more expensive. depends on whats close to you but call or go to autozone and get a mobil 1 oil filter. walmart has mobil 1 "10w30 super syn" in five quart jugs or you can buy it at autozone while you are there. you can look on mobil1 website to view all their products

Okay thanks.

Okay thanks.

The multi vehicle use formula ended up being the super syn formula. Thanks for all of your help.
Eddie.
