Engine Rebuild Suggestions

This upcoming week we will be shipping a 92 Typhoon engine to TPIS for a rebuild. Because it may (or may not) be used in a project vehicle in the shop, we would like to do a mild build. In other words, the more crazy we get with a build, the harder it is to sell later because of the costs involved. I'm simply looking for suggestions here.

What we have
  • original Typhoon block (empty)
  • Vortec heads
  • modified intake manifold for Vortec heads
  • original crankshaft
  • original exhaust manifolds and crossover (for test stand use only)

What we do not have
  • pistons
  • rods

The plan is to put the crankshaft through a nitride treatment, identify a better-than-stock camshaft (suggestions?), forged pistons, and new rods.

Any recommendations on a mild build?

Thanks!
Mike

Eagle rods.
How much do you want to spend on pistons? I have JE Pro in mine.
Custom cam from Moretto Motorsports.

Done.
