Search here on DataMaster or Tunerpro.... you'll have lots of information come up.
Detroit Turbo and RPM also sell scan software packages also, I believe, if you want to go that route.

Rethinking this a bit... it's not *too* far out of whack.
The preferred one would be the KB118, but the reality of the matter is that guys are running the late model vortec motors with higher CRs. This is assuming the block hasn't been decked.
This isn't what killed the motor. Personally, I'd put a KB142 back in it and run. If you want to lower the CR a bit, have Cometic make you a thick (.050-.060) head gasket.
I can't believe it didn't gork the crank and the bottom end all up.
I wouldn't expect to make big power and have it hold together with the compromised block, but stockish levels should be ok.
Monitoring it will be a really good idea until you're sure it's not knocking severely.

I have found out some more on the block too, which has made me go a little different route. It has been bored 30 over, and #4 was sleeved previously, so there has been some problems before. We are just throwing some ideas around on what to do, but I'm not going to use the KB pistons again. By the looks of it this is the second one to break, so I think I'll try something else. Between the CR being too high, the wrong plugs and who knows what else, I figure I'm just gonna start from scratch and get it as close to the original numbers as I can and go from there. I don't plan on racing it or need anything fancy, just want it to run good so I can drive it here and there when I want to. I think my first purchase once its all back together will be a program to see what it is doing and make sure that there is no detonation, because my bet is that has been a contributing factor to this. I think the last few who have touched this motor just didn't know what they were dealing with.
