Engine build, need advice on where to take it

To sum it up without spending all day typing, this is what I am looking for. I want to have my motor gone through, everything freshend up. straightned out etc. I want strong performance without taking it over the top and making it too crazy (ie, working on it constantly ) I know thats an oxymoron with a sy LOL. But just a clean rebuild to make sure things are right. I only want the best parts and etc put into it and money is not a problem. I do want to have it done here in the southeast if possible as I am in the western part of NC and will tow it where necessary. I am looking for serious input on who to have do this, as I want it done right. I know alot of guys on here have some really good, reliable trucks and will provide some good insight and ideas. So let me know who I should contact about doing this project. Thanks

Re: Engine build, need advice on where to take it

well i guess the question on my mind would be do i want to keep the turbo 4.3 v6 or move up two cylinders to a small block chevy. with the v6 i would tear basically your motor most of the way apart down to taking out the pistons and crank and if needed send out the block to get hot tanked and bored if needed. crank might want to be turned, new bearings and rings possibly new pistons cam and stuff like to give it all new surfaces. but if a v8 is what anyone is interested in hearing about im building a small block 406 for my sonoma GT any questions about that or motor advice let me know. knokenator@msn.com

Oh to be young again...LOL.. for my next project I'm replacing the motor in the ferrari with a powerstroke,, they make tons of torque ya know.

Now back to our regular programming... building a real sy motor.
