Energy Suspension Poly Bushings Help

Anyone done these on thier upper control arms? Any hints or help?

I wrecked one of the top bushing cases trying to get it out of the control arm. 3 more to go and they are a PAIN.

Any help (or pictures) would be GREATLY appreciated!

i just used a torch to burn out the old ones on the TOP. its stinky but a cheap map gas torch works.

Then on the bottom ones i torched them out then i used a chisel and hammer and a cutting wheel to cut out the center metal ring its not that hard. the new ones will have a new ring already installed on them then you just pound them in.

I pressed them out using a washer, c-clamp, and large socket. It sucked, but I was able to get them out and not damage them.

I spent $40 and had a machine shop press the old ones out and the new ones in. Badda Bing, Badda Boom!

my local auto parts chain rents tools. I typicaly rent the the ball joint press (huge c-clamp with multiple steel cylinders). I just did all the wheel studs on my uncles chevelle. I'm sure something could easily be rigged up and you can use an impact gun to create force. no smell, no mess, NO MONEY!

I just drilled a hole in the rubber bushing and let the drill bit cut away all the rubber around the center sleeve and then it just fell right out.

We heated them up with a torch then used an air hammer to pop them out, just watch out if you heat them up and hammer on them the little pieces of rubber stain your skin and cloths bad...ask me how I know.
