I am wondering if you drop the front driveshaft and make it two wheel dr and go on a trip would this cause any issues with the awd system?

Re: dropping driveshaft

People remove the prop shaft (aka front driveshaft) all the time to diagnose vibration problems/t-case problems etc. I've even been told to take it out and go for a drive to see how it feels...

I guess for a prolonged period wouldn't be good but it can be done. The rear driveshaft however shouldn't be removed and driven around.

Re: dropping driveshaft

Don't do it. The prolonged shearing of the fluid in the VC will overheat it and the plates inside, causing it to lock up.
