If you only drive your syty on the weekends for a few hours do you think it's ok to leave the inspection cover off the torque converter? I would think that it would keep things cooler right?
i dont think its going to cool it off any significant amount, plus I would rather have the added protection from rocks and stuff not to mention keep dirt out of the seal where the converter goes it.
I may be a bit ghetto about this but I can't stand these things. Always in the way, some are a nightmare to remove. I yank them off most of my vehicles, but again, I may be a little ghetto about it... :myclone:
I will put in my :2cents: With the torque and violence of our boost launches I am leaving mine on to provide as much rigidity to the tranny case and driveline as possible. I have a cast aluminum tranny oil and I am reusing the Inspection cover. I have cut holes in the inspection pan and I have to grind the edge abutting the cast aluminum pan to make it fit.
