just checking to see if anyone makes a complete ls1 conversion kit for the sy or ty trucks.. you may find a part or two here and there but would like to get it all at once from a good supplier that is known for good quality parts..if anyone knows anything please let me know. i am seriously thinking of doing this swap but i do not want it to use crappy stuff to do it.. i want it to look good and perform good as well..

But don´t put an LS1 in an Sy or Ty...SyTy´s are only real SyTy´s with a blown 4.3 V6 and they are so rare so buy an Sonoma or Jimmy, do the LS1 swap and built an SyTy-clone...

LS1 in these cars are awesome, a friend is driving an supercharged LS1...this goes like hell :)

A sy/ty is a sy/ty based off VIN..bottom line. If you change wheels is it no longer a sy/ty?

LOL in this point you´re right, but i think that a Sy or Ty with a V8 is more a Jimmy/Blazer/sonoma.
There aren´t so much SyTy´s in the world so let them their V6 and tune this if you want...

After all, thats my point off view...

A ls1 is pretty much a custom swap. If your looking for a bolt in kit I would look elsewhere for either different vehicle or different modification route.

Your right..SyTy is really just a sonoma/jimmy anyway. So any guy can throw a turbo on a 4.3 4wd sonoma/jimmy and have an genuine Syty!

If I ever do a twin turbo 383 SBC in my Typhoon, which is probably the plan one day, it will still be a Typhoon! I understand where you are coming from though...you are a purist. Whereas I am a realist...I will realistically have a much faster Ty with a TTV8 in it!

That right, with an blown V8 it goes like hell ( a friend do also an ls1 swap)
I also thought about a swap, can get an ls1 with supercharger for a really good condition but its Hard for me to rip Out the Ty's Heart LOL

From a fabrication standpoint, there isn't enough of a market for a LS swap into a 4wd S10 chassis. It would not be profitable for a small shop to do the R/D. There are kits already out there for SBC & LS swaps into 2wd S10s. But a LS Syty would be a custom job.

Oh I have no intentions of pulling the motor for no reason. I am planning to take the stock motor about as far as I can, and maybe to failure, without opening it up. When it comes time that I need to build the 4.3 to go faster, I will build a V8 instead. It will basically cost the same to build a 350, as it would to build a 4.3. So then I ask, why not do a V8? Obviously a 383 stroker kit will cost more...as will a pair of turbos, as opposed to one. But it will basically make right at 1000hp...and love it!!!
