Re: DOC HOOVER in Steele, MO 3/5/06
there was no water anywhere, other than where is supposed to be. had something to do with the rod bearing goin bad that caused the damged to the block. dont know all the details for sure but water wasnt the cause. as for the rods, we really dont know? but we have 6 new ones now!
to be honest, no. havent really thought about changing anything till we get the truck running straight. all i know about our head is that they are brodix. dont know jack crap about em!
i know we have some "8.90 ET heads" if the dang driver could get the dang truck to go straight! :rotf:
ya never know with callahan? i dont think he's in any hurry to get finished. pretty patient with the build and getting everyting right. he did send me some pictures the other day of his stock truck with the HRE's we had on our truck, which we originally got from him years ago. made me kinda want em back!
isnt it about time we see some of the other trucks get on down in the 9s? hint hint ed

I kinda doubt the detonation bent the rods but perhaps the force lifted the heads.
then water filled the cylinders
water wont compress so the rods bend and the cylinder walls crack under pressure.
hence the need for another block.

ghettosled said:matt, you guys thought about upgrading that intercooler yet? also, since you run on pure c16, no reason to keep the compression under 10:1. Thats definately one huge regret i have on my motor, cause i have seen what a difference it makes with higher compression. i would love to see you guys build a motor with some good heads, but right now it seems like the motor is already making enough power to stay ahead of Ed.. lol <sorry ed, just had too>
whats up with callahan? maybe this year?
