hey guy
i'm just wondering
i will maybe change my turbocharger, and i'm thinking of give it to my friend
who has a 2003 honda civic Type R with:-
(intake system,exhaust system,headers and some stuff i don't remember)

he's allredy beat
(camaro's(LS1),lumina ss (LS1), 02 caprice ss , nissan 350z)-(not stock cars)

so do you thinks guys he will beat the Ty's with this turbo ??

I'm not calling you a liar, but thats hard to believe. That civic with the mods you listed cant have more than 200whp and unless it has stripped interior and one seat, it shouldn't be able to beat an LS anything....

As for giving him your turbo, hes gonna need alot more stuff then just the turbo to run it. I dont know if bolting a turbo to an 11:1 compression engine is a good idea anyways.

If what you say is true about him spanking LS1 powered cars, then with a turbo, he should be able to give you a good run for your money (that is, if the civic is properly tuned to run the turbo)

i don't know why you are saing it's hard to belive it's honda civic (Type R) i will say it againe (Type RRRRRRR) with many modifecation and tuninig as i said before maybe you don't much information about the type R any way he is a teacher he's my brother teacher maybe i will search for some vedio of this type R for you :tup:

Well, first off I'm not seeing how he is beating a ls1 camaro. Stock or not especially if it is a 6 speed. As far as I know those civics run a...low 15? LS1 camaros run very low 13's stock pretty easy. Even if it was an auto that was one of the earlier LS1's not having an ls6 intake they still run mid-low 13's.Unless this civic is a n/a car with cam/head work/higher compression I'm not seeing it especially considering they aren't THAT light compared to the older civics. Although they probably still have a 1,000 pound advantage to a camaro. It seems to me he would require a turbo to beat the ls1 in the first place. So to answer your original question, if he is beating camaro ss's with bolt-ons he should absolutely blow a ty away with a turbo. Hell, he will probably be running 10's, you know how those V-tec's are :roll:

I know exactly what a Type R is, and still a Type R doesn't mean squat to me... I spanked the shit out of Integra Type-R's all day long in my Eclipse GSX. Unless a honda is boosted and built to handle the boost, they are piss ass slow economy cars.

As was stated before, these guys aren't calling you liars. They are just sharing with you the sheer unlikelihood of what you said. Being an LS1 Camaro owner myself, with the mods you stated, I could start off in second and get around it before the 1/8. There has got to be more to this car than you are saying. If it's that fast without a turbo, that means it has high compression pistons, head work, cams and severe weight reduction. Adding a turbo with no other supporting mods = kaboom.

Ok, well obviously you are forgetting about a major mod, so I would say until we know if his civic has a turbo already or is supercharged or whatever it is hard to give you a valid answer to whether or not his civic would beat your typhoon. Sounds like it is already already turbo'd or like I said has had head/cam work and higher compression in which case your turbo wouldn't help. See what I'm sayin? I'm sorry, my intent was not to call you a liar, it's just that you said this civic was basically running low 13's -high 12's and all you said was bolt-ons and some stuff you forgott. It came across abit confusing.

So you get the Holden Monaro as the Lumina/SS/LTZ etc.? That's not fair :rant: I want Aussie Cars in the US!

350hp for the Lumina SS is pretty sweet! :tup:

I'm still looking for specs of the Arabia Type R. Could be just like the Japanese market cars. They get all kinds of Turbo, high horsepower stuff that the US doesn't get.

Edit: Found it! 2003 Arabia Civic Type R has 200hp stock, whereas the US spec Civic Si only had 160hp. So I don't know, I would guess with the right amount of work it could beat lightly modded LSx Cars. Stranger things have happened. :tup:

Where does it say GM offered a v8 in either of those two cars you're talking about above in the links later then this year? Beside's the older Impala SS's with the LT1's in them. None of the newer style Impala's came with a factory optioned v8. I believe it wasnt until last year and this year that they put the LS1 in them. Granted, it could have been a UK only thing. But there would have been talk about it in the US. And I havent heard any and I'm on alot of the LS boards. And I didnt see where it said it was a roll over engine for this year on GM's site. :dunno:

I agree with Super-gt, its a bit unclear. Because I have friends with turbo'd Civic's and they are just in the low 13's. And pushing 10psi. Another with a built Integra thats in the high 12's and thats a fully built motor. Call me what you will, I'm just saying.
