the msd does nothing for you. it mearly does what the computer tells it to do. you cant make that any better by polishing it up and making it $215.
My truck was parked for about 4-5 years before I bought it, stock distributor was much corroded and after eliminating all other problems, replacing and rechecking other ignition parts idle still unstable and tachometer still fluttering. Distributor was next logical thing to do.
