distributer options?

If one was going to end up having to swap out the stock dis for something... what kind of options are out there?

I seen that we could use the MSD-8367 but im not too crazy over the $311 plus price tag, Anything else that's decent or better then stock that we could use or you'd suggest using in a sy?

I bit the bullet and got the MSD from mike at RPM, I had to wait another week to save for it but overall I'm glad I did, it's a nice looking piece.

There is also the ACC-60114 ACCEL BilleTech late model distributors, It looks to be a little better then a stock replacement, and I have used Accel in the past and haven't had any problems with them. The price is $249.95 and I just think most of the time you will get what you pay for...just my :2cents:

i run the msd as well, i like it. i got lucky and bought it before summit raised the price. $225

i'd go msd for the price difference, i haven't had much success w/ accel wires and plugs in the past

Ok wasn't sure if there was something else out there or if another company was copying there setup like before

You might want to look at Mallory. They have a nice billet stock replacement. I have had nothing but great success with Mallory Distributors. I used them on dynos for years and years, in and out of engines hundreds of times and never had to even repair them besides change out the gears. I actually had the oportunity to tour their facility and it was very nice which suprised me for an older company.

got a part number handy? distributors aren't exactly something I know too much about with these trucks or chevy in general

I would just rebuild the stock one. The only electronics is the ignition module and pickup coil. Just put on a new cap/rotor and replace the distributor gear if its worn (usualy that is a sign of other issue though) The electronics just under $100. The only plus I see for the MSD is the billet probably has better tolerances.

Hmmm sounds good I think that might be the route I go depending on if I want to leave it sit again

i just did the inj mod on my stock dis it was 40 at advanced and took all of 5min to do. started right up and idles better then ever.
