Displaying TunerPro on a Flipout receiver

Well I finally got around to hooking up all the electronics in the syclone. Here is a video clip of the dash of the sy including a panasonic 7" flipout widescreen receiver displaying TunerPro. The VGA to RCA converter I am using came from Radio Shack and has a handy little Zoom button that will allow you to enlarge any section on the screen. I am going to use it for the Knock Count :D

nice setup, you just have the laptop on the passenger seat or where is it mounted?

how much the flipout display cost?

I just start up the laptop and then close it and it sets in the passenger seat. The cords are long enough for it to go behind the seat if I have a passenger though.

As for the display. I work at Geek Squad City and have a friend that sold me the Panasonic flipout for $100. You can use any display though as long as it has a RCA (yellow) input for like a VCR or Camera though. I believe all displays have that, I could be wrong.

Anyway, works for me and we will see if sub 3 second launches screw with it at all this weekend.

you can build a single DIN car PC to run it.
mp3car is good place for information.

Can you access the files in TunerPro to change what the display looks like?

Awhile back I made some custom digital gauges for my STi using ECUTEK delta dash.

Instead of displaying numbers on the monitor it displayed the information in gauges using needles on graphics I made in illustrator ...kind of like a virtual gauge.
you could custom build any gauge you could get sensor information for.
you could also make them any size you wanted to, I made mine to appear to be 60mm gauges when viewed on a 4"x7" monitor.
