88-91 Corvette and 88-92 F-bodies share the same TB. I am not sure 100% about the bracket (the detachable part that bolts on to throttle linkagage) if its SyTy specific, someone else could probably chime in for that part.

Sean,

I am running the BBK twin 58mm and I got it from Summit Racing. Works great. I tried running the Holley unit but it does not match up to the tranny kick down or throttle so stay away from that one.

Re: different throttle body

Hi guys,

I'm not that familiar with throttle bodies, so a couple of questions.
I was looking over the BBK twin 58mm, and it looks like what I could use.
I'm replacing my stock T/B because of some issues including code 35 (IAC)
I've tried 2 new IAC motors (with no sucess) thinking that might be the issue, but now after reading some post and making some observations, I'm thinking a new T/B might solve the issues.( I also followed the Sy/Ty service diagnosis repair manual) With that being said, what is the normal mm for the stock T/B?
The BBK twin also says that injectors are not included.
When they say injectors, what do they mean, and what is involved in getting these and installing them. I prefer direct bolt on with no hassle.
Is this BBK twin really any better for the price (HP wise) than the factory replacement T/B? Thanks for your input in advance. AJ

Did you clean out the IAC passages? or the carbon build up behind the throttle plates?

BTW I have a spare stock low mileage SyTy TB FS.

Re: different throttle body

Hi Dave,
Yes, I did. That is why I can't figure out why it is acting this way.
After the truck has warmed up, and I'm going up the road and let off the gas for a red light, the engine starts feathering, (almost like it's trying to shut off)(guess that IAC is going in and out) but once I come to a stop it stops doing that and then the check engine light comes on. Once I take off again, the check engine light goes off.
What are you running for your T/B?
How much mileage do you have on your stock T/B, and what do you want for it?
I only have 72,000 miles on my truck. I think I'm getting ready to put it up for sale, so I want to make sure everything is right before I do sell it.
Thanks for responding. AJ

Re: different throttle body

Do you know what code it is throwing? Has someone tried adjust the TB linkage from the factory setting ie the screw that sort of adjusts the idle (BTW your really not supose to play with that setting unless you really know what your doing). It really doesn't sound like an IAC issue, a bad IAC or clogged passages usually gives crappy/hunting idle. At 72K miles, I am sure it need some cleaning but I wouldn't expect it to be really clogged up. My TB has ~50K miles.

Re: different throttle body

You really need to find out what code its giving you. Do you know how to check for codes?

Re: different throttle body

Hi mike, yes..., up in my prior post above. It's giving a 35. : )
Nope, I have not messed with any of the linkage or the adjustments.
I have troubled shot the most obvious stuff, but now I'm at a loss.
According to the specs, it says that a code 35 willset when the closed throttle engine speed is 225rpm above or below the desired (commanded) idle speed for longer than 20 seconds. When i'm running up the road it is not on. When I come to a stop in gear, or place it in park it will come on shortly after. I also run a ATR stage 3 setup, but this has only started happing recently.
