Did a few dyno runs today

I had a chance to run my truck on an all-wheel-drive dyno this morning. At the wheels, I got 330.7 horsepower and 443.5 lb-ft of torque. Interestingly enough, when I opened the exhaust dump, the numbers rose to 346.3 hp and 453.0 lb-ft.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with those numbers, although I was hoping for more.

If anyone's interested, I can give you the build details.

yeah id like to know the details, those are impressive numbers
Forgot to mention earlier that both runs were done with 93 octane pump gas, and the closed-dump run was with 16 psi of boost (the open-dump run crept up to 20 psi). Also, the torque converter was locked on both runs.

Here's my build:
Stock block, bored .030 over.
4-bolt mains
JE SRP Pistons
Eagle Rods
Stock crank
Melling high-flow oil pump
L-35 heads, heavily ported and polished
Crane 1.6 roller rockers
Crane cam (from ATR)
Stock intake and exhaust manifolds, no porting (yet).
PTE PT52 turbo
PTE downpipe
PTE catalytic converter, modified for 3" outlet
Dynomax muffler
50 lb high-impedance injectors
customized CAS single-core air-to-air intercooler
home-made cold air intake
custom-tuned chip

Those are almost the exact same numbers I put down earlier this year, with about the same amount of boost (16 psi), truck went 11.9's right after that without touching it, but at the track boost was all over the place 14-17-18-15.

Obviously your efforts paid off Bill. When the locals did a dyno day some time back, Steve P was the "top dog" of the day..... stock motor/turbo, 100 octane and 20 psi on the Ultimate.... 249 hp at the wheels.

Richard at 14.5 psi with Crane cam and L35 heads was at 345 hp at the crank.......... top dog for the low boost (stock chip) group. "If" Rich would have been able to up the boost setting, I'm sure he would have taken the higher boost "top dog" honors also.

What really was amazing to me....... same truck/same run, wheel versus crank, there was a 35% average loss to drivetrain. Whew...... :(

Good numbers!

How exactly did you guys come up with crank numbers? is this a guestimation?

The all wheel dyno gives you the choice of what you want..... crank, wheel, 1/4 run, etc......

At first everyone was doing crank numbers, and they switched over to wheel horspepower. I took the run from one truck of both prinouts and did the math.
