I am interested in buying a detroitturbo manuel boost controller for my stock turbo. Does it really help spool up that much?. and also, is the boost more stable, or does the controller knob move alot?

A lot of the old school guys swear buy these. Personally I would see if Scott has an electronic boost controller.

Yeah, I've got one on my truck and it does work well and very steady but I would rather be able to adjust the boost without having to guess at how much to turn it. I'll get an electronic one eventually.
If you just want to set it at 15 and forget it then its definitely inexpensive and reliable. I dont know about it helping spool and such, I think thats more about the wastegate rod adjustment and other things.

i think i might get one then. Ive heard from many sources that the boost controller helps spool up because the wastegate doesnt start to open until later

a boost controler will help with spool up by when it lets the waste gate bleed off. i think the stock setup starts at like 8-10 psi
