2 You expect me to need a lift back home when its all over.

That would be #1 Ed. Two weeks ago at Atco I sandbagged it for the first 4 runs, then on my final run I gave it hell and bent a pushrod. :-?

Truck's up and running again, but God only knows what's next... :roll:

which ones are you guys using?

with the 412 or anything not stock you have to use the 1 piece pushrods and a much better lifter.

using same pushrods and lifter as listed in the line listing for the 412 cam in the comp cams catalog.
lifter 850-12
pushrods 7808-12

I can only assume I was using stock type pushrods - whatever McCoy put in it when he built it. Now I have an upgraded set on the way. They'll go in next time something breaks (read: most likely next time I hammer on it :roll: ).

Oh yeah, so far this weekeds weather looks like ass. If they salt the crap outta the roads, my Sy won't leave the driveway regardless of whether it's on a trailer or not. If I can even get a trailer. :-? sux...

Cheer Up? Well now, tonight I took the Sy for a short run as I figured the streets will be white with salt after tomorrow. It was breaking up a bit, but that's just my constant battle with the ignition. Anyway, as I headed towards home I noticed this 'whistling' sound at idle. Got home and popped the hood to listen, and I'm guessing I popped a gasket on the intake manifold, or possibly throttle body?? The whistle is there at idle and seems to go away as the rpm's come up. Plus, I swear I got the smell of fuel ( C16 ) in the cab as I was driving it home. I guess a blown intake gasket would make some sense? I don't know and don't care right now. Just covered it back up. I LOVE MY SY!! :roll:

Well, unfortunately there is lots of snow, slush, ice and salt on the roads now, but if I can get the truck out of mothballs and tuned up somewhat before Sunday, Im gonna try to make it down and do some final passes on the stock motor

Hoepfully the trackis clear by then.

I just found that atco has extended their 2003 schedule to include the following weekend.

also Sundays only resume jan 4th thru the month of february! weather permitting of course.

ugh, im glad they extended their schedule cause I dont think this sunday is going to happen. things just keep piling up cause of last weekends weather.

Ill be watching this thread and the weather channel.

Ed, if for some reason you dont go this weekend or plan on getting a few extra runs in the following weekend on the 21st, let me know, ill probably be game............i hope.
