Datamaster setup

I am trying to set up my datamaster and when I get to the Serial Data Acquisition, I go to TRY and select a COM port and it won't let me choose. It's automatically selected at none selected. What's going on with it? Help please....

Are you talking about the USB or ALDL cable?

What operating system are you on?

When starting, I had to right click on my computer icon, go to properties, go to device manager, go to ports, identify which ports were active, then choose that port.... my tuning laptop is out in the shop... I can give you more/better info tomorrow.

Thank you for the steps. For some reason I couldn't get to that set up via the instructions. I got it set up...now the fun begins...Thank you for your help...Much appreciated.
