CV joints

I think my cv joints have gave out. when i turn left i hear a real bad crunching/grinding noise. How hard is it to replace these, what all is involved, and about how long does it take to swap out the old with new ones?? also how much money am i lookin at for the new parts? Will it hurt my truck to continue driving it with this problem? id appreciate any coments or suggestions.

~$70 to purchase a brand new halfshaft from local parts store, about 4 hours to R&R if you haven't done it before. Pretty straight-forward. Just don't wear good clothes as you will become a greasy mess for sure.
