Cut-out under hard acceleration

Hi all. My Syclone #2776 runs great with the exception of a sudden cut-out under hard acceleration. Wanted to see if any other members have had this happen. Almost as if you turn the ignition off for a split second and then back on.

Thanks,
Mark

It could be the knock sensor pulling timing. It could be over boost. For the time being you keep your foot out of it until you figure out what's causing this. Is the truck throwing any trouble codes? Are you monitoring the engine functions in real time through the ALDL? I don't know what programs that are available today, but back in the day everybody used Datamaster.

Hi. I haven't hooked the truck up through the ALDL but look into getting a reader.

Got about a 1/4 tank of fuel. Would that trigger a fuel pick-up issue under hard acceleration? I guess one way to find out is to top it off and see...

Thanks,

Mark

How much gas is in the tank? If it's low, fuel sloshes away from the pickup under hard acceleration.

In a Syclone, with the longitudinal skinny tank with the pick-up at the front? Absolutely.
You're right, add gas and try it again. Don't make a habit out of running hard with low tank level, the engine runs lean at high output which can cause piston damage.

Look at it like 1/2 tank is empty. Keep it topped off. Or spend the money either and get a piece of Holley Hydromat and you will be able to run all the way down to about empty hard.
