Found this near me in Coopersburg, someone needs to rescue it.

93 Gmc Typhoon (factory awd turbo truck) with 72k miles on it. All original except 3 inch stainless steal exhaust , brand new OEM turbo and wasegate(no cheap knock off) , chip programmed by Hood Performance in 2013 and pillar gauges. Interor is nice. Good running truck but would need to be re-tuned for WOT use. Inspected until 3/17. It has the normal s10 s15 Blazer Jimmy fender and wheel well rust and paint is faded. Tires are dry rotted as well. Just testing the waters to see what offers i get. ONLY TRADE IM REALLY INTERESTED IN IS SUBARU WRX OR OTHER SUBARU TRADES. I maybe interested in other 4 door turbo vehicles. Let me know what you got.
$8000 obo / TRADES

Rusty. crusty, needs paint, doesn't run right. "Needs tune" (don't all moded trucks need a tune?). And "70,000 original miles", Really? Only 3,400 miles a year since new? And it's crusty? I doubt the mileage is accurate. Missing $1,200 of cladding and center caps. So what do you get for 8,grand? Not much. Perhaps an interior. Another one that I wouldn't want for free because shipping to Cali is more than what I consider a fair price for it.

Why is it so hard to believe that mileage ?? Mine had 61,000 on it in 2001, got it from the original owner, he was 58 when he bought it new. Actually I drove in it when it was three days old... And now it sits (still) and has only 62,000 on it now... odometer has never been touched , then again neither has the ignition keys...

Yeah, but how does your truck look? Is that it, in your avatar...with a COVER on it??

Dave is rightfully questioning the mileage based on the condition of the truck, which is deplorable. Is it possible it only has 70k miles and was just neglected? Sure. But it raises the question.

I've asked seller for VIN, so if provided, we'll get a better idea.

Re: Craigslist Typhoon $8,000

I'm questioning the 3,500 miles a year. I have a Corvette I bought new 31 years ago. It had 17,000 miles when it was 2 years old, 30,000 at 4 years old, 39,220 at 11 years old, then wasn't started or driven until it was 21 years old. Now at 31 years old, it has 50,000. That's 1,600 per year average. Usage declined the older it got. It did get driven 5,800 miles in 11 days this summer. More than the past 10 years.

I have a Syclone with 52,000 miles that I've owned for 17 years and driven exactly 2 miles. I also have the original application for registration in my name in 2000 with the mileage at that time recorded on it, and 17 years of non-operation declarations since. Carfax is a blank on the past 17 years. Has nothing. The reason it hasn't been driven is I've never finished it. It's beautiful, but not finished, so I've never driven it.

I recite these anecdotes as examples of the story fitting, and the "low mileage" is credible. The seller of the crusty green claims "low mileage" but expects it to be accepted without question.

Low mileage vehicles usually are in pretty good condition. But sometimes so are high mileage vehicles. My 93 Blazer with 285,000 could have passed for less than 75K with the condition of everything except the shitty paint. Same color and year as the subject Typhoon. But my Blazer's paint was much better.

Unless there's documentation, or you have reason to trust the "story", beware of mileage on any mechanical odometer. They are just too easy to change. Odometer rollbacks have been going on since the first used Model-T was sold.
