cooling for 4L80E

I bought me a 4L80E here in the UK and was wondering what cooling people are using?

I was going to get one of the front mounted oil coolers from RPM and run an inline filter with a thermostat bung between the trans output and oil input.

I think the coolers are 11" x 8".

Will this be enough?

Re: cooling for 4L80E

Im running stainless steel lines up to infront of the rad. I have a cooler and a electric fan on it . I have never heard the fan come on yet and never seen the temp over 180. Im sure the stock cooler in the rad be fine.

An 80e won't heat up like the 700 will unless you run a 4000+ stall converter. Anything will get hot running a stall like that. Keep the stall streetable and it'll stay happy.

Re: cooling for 4L80E

So I can stay on the line with my hydroboost setup and build boost for a while without heating the trans up?

That is another advangtage of this transmission that I did not know about! Is it worth getting a cooler to be on the safe side or is it so remote that it is not even a factor?

Just want to get all the parts into one big shipement - you guys in the US have no idea how much it costs to get this stuff to the UK and how long.
