Coolant leak

I took the lower cover under the dash off, to get to the ECM. While doing this I noticed there is a trace of coolant in the foam of that cover. Would the heater core need to be replaced or is there something that might of came loose to start leaking? How big of a job is it to replace the heater core?

Thanks

Re: Coolant leak

You most likely need a heater core. It took me a good 3-4 hours the first time. Now that I know exactly what to do, I could probably do it in about an hour and a half. It's not that hard.

I dunno know....I did mine in about 30 minutes start to finish. The toughest part for me was twisting my back around to get at everything.

Kyle, I did mine in a couple hrs, it's not hard.

Instead of draining the system, I used 2 pairs of flat needle nose pliers to pinch of the coolant lines then did the swap and took the pliers off ;)

You might have to cut the lines going to and from the heater core, mine were a bitch to get off, just make sure if you cut them, cut as little off as possible!
