Converter question

Howdy,

I've just received my new Raptor 9/12" converter and I've a few questions.

First please help me to decide what to do. I'm still hesitating, wheter I want to install the converter and not touching the tranny or doing a tranny rebuild the same time. My tranny is acting normal, so there is no reason to do a rebuild so far. So an other option could be to wait till the tranny will act up and do the whole stuff then. I'm affraid that if I installed the converter on the stock tranny and the tranny fails it will hurt the new converter too. Maybe an inline filter could help to avoid this?

So if I'll leave the converter alone this time, should I'll fill the converter with ATF and store it like this or is it enough to fill a flush one day before the planned installation?

Also If I shake the converter in my hands, something has a play inside. Is that normal?

When i replaced my new at that time 10/11 to the stock tranny it worked fine,for a month or two. That was on a 500hp engine and 5200 rpm governor
If you rev at the same point it wont last. You have raced many times with it so its kinda tired
My second tranny with a 9/11 burned the overrun clutches
Id say do the tranny with all the "have to" parts , and do it your self
The noise is normal from the 9/11
What stall is it ?

I agree, that would be the wisest decision. It's has a 2800 stall speed. And it's not a 9/11 but a 9/12 Raptor. :wink:

Anybody has any input regarding storing the converter?
