Re: Problem Tuner Pro -aldl

On the 10k setting , it should make your truck stumble and ces light come on . Some obd1 systems need the 10k resistor to go into diagnostic mode and transmit data . Not our trucks though .

Re: Problem Tuner Pro -aldl

OK ,I set it to com 3 and it recognizes it in device manager as being on three.TunerProRt says...( Cable found and functioning ) So I turned on ALDL data and no values were up.Went back to check cable again and ( No cable found or functioning on 189?? baud )But its shown in device manager as being there. On the same com I can go to DataMaster and log.

I here a fast system calling me:rotf: FOCK this,I just hope the $59 is better @ connecting.
I know everyone is sittin back and watching me get pissed at this Program:lol:

JS Manufacturing said:
Force the aldl cable to be on a com port 1-3 and see what happens. You can do that in device manager.

That has worked for me. From then on, make sure you plug your aldl into the same usb every time to save hassles.

$59 connect like a champ, and in fact dig released a patch for the old chips to help with connecting that came from the $59 development.

Re: Problem Tuner Pro -aldl

I've tried connecting with and without the ( digwhare )pach.
Hey Matt Back from Hawaii I see, Yeah funky shit I downloaded the new one from the TP site because I thought it was corrupt somehow....
I remember Mike Hood having a hell of a time connecting to mine in Daytona because the ECM was sending information really fast. His laptop had a hard time silencing it.

Re: Connecting Problem Tuner Pro -aldl

Your guess is as good as mine.. I don't think the stuff I put on your computer is corrupt.
Because I used all of that information before getting this computer.
And your old compute + some of the stuff on Mikes.
What OS are you using ( I have Windows Xpera-mental Media edition ) Intell core Duo.
Maybe that's the problem. If I ever get it to work I know it will continue to work.
You and I are the only ones ???? I can;t believe that!

Re: Connecting Problem Tuner Pro -aldl

I have a Gateway MX3701

And can't get it to work with Tuner Pro Rt.(Emulates but no ALDL)

Bins are pached....I sent them to Mark Mansur and he was able to conect right away.

We trouble shot for a while them I sent the cables back to Moates for a check…

Strange thing is DataMaster connects and reads data.

divice manager shows it is on lpt port 5 (the only one I've ever put it on)

tyried forcing it to be on every other port with the same result

I'm not getting any packet errors NOR any actual packets.

Using the most current NWSTP ads and xdf.

Re: Connecting Problem Tuner Pro -aldl

I know you said USB in one of your first posts, do you mean a USB cable from moates, or a USB to serial adapter? I can bring my laptop to Plant City on 12/16 if your gonna go. My Dell WOULD NOT connect to ANY version of TP with a USB to serial adapter, yet using the same adapter I could use my serial wide band no problem. WIth the Autoprom it connects right away, every time using $59. I have a patched $58 bin but I have never tried it.

There are varying degrees of USB to serial adapters. Many don't support the standard PC UART features properly.

Some Belkin models did have them... not all, however.

Another option: (Albeit more expensive)

http://sewelldirect.com/quatechrs232serialpcmcia.asp

This PCMCIA card is a *real* UART, so it should behave as if it were a built-in port.

There are also multiport PCMCIA cards available if you're running an ostrich and a DM cable at the same time. (Spendy)
