Computer chip question

My Typhoon has a 3rd party warranty. They said that I can`t do any performance mods to it. The question that I have is can the computer tell the machine that you plug into it if it has had a aftermarket chip in it? Also what is the best chip for street use? Thanks

Yes it can. Most of the aftermarket chips have a different ID's which scan tools can read. The best aftermarket chip is the Ultimate. It's a multichip with 16 different programs and with a control unit to change between them. It's obvious to recognize if you have one of these.

yeah just install the ultimate, and if you need service, just pull it out before you take it in to have it worked on.

If they are as smart as GM (I'm not sure where to start with a joke there) they can check the ECM, which will have a sticker sealing it. If you put a chip in there, you are forced to tear the sticker apart.

You can burn a chip with whatever ID you want, so a scan tool wouldn't tell you for sure. Physically checking would be the only way at that point
