Re: Cold Air Box

Been thinkin to do the same for a while now, i already made my fiberglass hood and im ready to make a heat stractor and was thinkin of also making a cold air box and some kind of ram air intake right on top of the turbo using the stock rubber hose from the stock air duct.

I've got that exact one new if you're interested. No filter or piping, just the box.

Re: Cold Air Box

The hood i have the mold for the sheet metal but no hinges or bases and after pulling the piece it still needs a little work as it isnt perfectly straight (i might sand the mold to get rid of the lower spots to correct that), the air straction system will be custom made but pretty easy to do your self with original GM parts from other vehicules. This will look pretty trick as it involves movin parts as speed and underhood pressures increase.
What im planing to sell to everyone that thinks it'll work and look fine on their truck is an intercooler scoop that will definetly work and look better than all the ones i've seen.

Re: Cold Air Box

This isnt the best pic , but its was the only close up i found on my hd . Its a regular atr intake that i modified with the plexi window . I really like how it pulls air in from the fender , vs hot engine air from a filter only . The atr came with the truck when I bought it , but i didnt like how looked with just the blank cover plate .

Re: Cold Air Box

The top left corner in the pic shows one of the angle brackets and it actually uses factory mounting holes .The lower left hole with a missing screw , is the spot for the other angle bracket to mount to . When you get it you will see the one side matches the opening in the fender .
