I also posted this on code59.org. Im just beginning with code 59 so sorry for the noob problems. I've loaded and verified a 33lb started bin and now when i try to start the truck it will fire once very quickly and then just turn over. also i can't seem to get the aldl to connect. I've changed the port to the correct one and when i press the test button in the setup it says it recognizes it but when i try to log data it just says connecting constantly. Im using tp version 5 btw.

I don't know it this is your problem or not.

I had problem after loading version 5. There was a problem with the ADL file when downloaded with Windows Explorer. I installed Google Chrome then downloaded the ADL file and it worked fine then.

My post was addressing the ADL connection. As far as your truck starting. You need someone that knows code$59 better that I to help you with that.

Was your truck running before the code$59 install?

If you can't connect to the ALDL stream then chances are something is up and not even worth trying to start the vehicle.

I also suggest TP ver 4 still, 5 still has enough bugs and glitches I don't trust it at all.

I always connect to ECM before I try to start a car, tells me the chip is loaded, hardware installed correctly, etc.

i think i saw that over on code59. i had a problem with the downloaded files and had to use chrome then they seemed to unzip and everything just fine.

yeah with the stock chip it runs just fine and i have no problem connecting to the aldl through Datamaster.

I'll try ver 4. I assumed it was ok because TP 5 seems to communicate with the ostrich just fine saying the chip was loaded and verified but if i cant get an aldl connection then that is a pretty big issue

Re: code59 no start/no aldl connection

Connecting with Ostrich is MUCH easier than ALDL. I almost never have that issue.

For example if you plug the ostrich in backwards to G1 adaptor, ostrich will load fine, ALDL connection will never happen.

Same for bent pin, or if you load a 59 file while you have a 58 xdf file. Won't connect, ostrich thinks life is just dandy.

I had a hard time making V5 work also.

This next suggestion. I don't know if it would cause the problem or not. But I think it has to be done. Jeff or someone else will probably post and tell you if this could be the cause.

With tunerpro open.
Click the XDF tap at the top.

Then click View/Edit XDF Header Info

Next click DA Assoc at the bottom of the window.

Then you will have to find were you downloaded the \Code59.6Beta TP5 ONLY.adx

Sorry I don't know much about computers. But this is different than how TP4 was setup.
