Cobra Mustang Killed

Here is a good kill for you guys. I took the Sy out last night to go get some dinner. I have seen this kid around for awhile in a Cobra Mustang. He didnt know what a Sy was cause I got next to him on a left turn light and he paid no attention. He ended up turning left at the next light . Well a little bit later I saw him driving again. So like a good Sy owner I followed a little behind to see if we could catch a light togther :tup: and we did. So I pulled up to him and gave the Sy a little gas. You should have seen the look on this kids face ( priceless ). He rolls his eyes at me and looks over at his girl friend and starts reving it up. I started to build some boost and the light turned green. I ended up getting 2 car lengths on him from the start and had to shut it down at 70 due to another light. He ended up turning off at the next light. I know who is searching is the internet to find out what a Syclone is?????

How funny...those Cobra owners must get told that they will have the fastest car on the street by the Ford sales team, I wonder if his girl put out for him that same night...NOT!!! :rotf:

although (forgive me guys, probably gonna get banned from the forum for this ) im kinda partial to the cobras. theyre reasonably priced and you put about a $1k in bolt ons and have a really fast car. im just a car nut in general though. i like all cars pretty much, except riced out imports and (newer) chrysler products. the new chryslers look good, but looks aint getting you anywhere when youre sitting beside the road. unless you got the right equipment between your legs and on your chest. :rotf:

oh yeah and i really like old skool imports, such as 70s rwd toyotas and datsuns.

Naah, I doubt you'll get banned for stating facts. At least one has variety with some quick mustangs when in the market to buy one (ie, Cobra, Roush, Saleen, GT500). Buy the right one and they are definately a handfull to contend with (ie, Cobra R, Roush Stage 3, Saleen S/C). The GT500 is just baaaddddd all the way around.

I had a roush stage 3 with another 2k in bolt ons. it was fast. Off the line it had traction problems with street tires. My friend had a 03 cobra with 5k in mods and I would spank him on the freeway. My roush was one year old and it cost in the upper 30k's for it. It did not handle as good as I would like. Its the fairly stock Gt's that we make fun of.

I know . I just parked a S281 S/C in my garage 3 weeks ago. Even with the traction control on, it will break loose in 2nd at about 4,800 rpm under full boost. Fun cars but no match off the line for a Sy or Ty!!!

yeah i dont know to many cars that can hang with any awd off the line. traction has got to be a sy/tys number 1 asset. spinnin aint winnin.

Wish I could line up with an S351, GT500, or Cobra R. I've been cruising around in the Sy for two days looking for a race and can't find anything worth running. Bay Area sucks for racing.

No, I believe he's still waiting on his upper downpipe section. BTW, I think I hurt my motor the other night with too much boost. There's a subtle rattling sound coming from the bottom end that varies with RPMs. It's hardly noticeable and the truck still runs strong but I have a feeling it's going to be new motor time soon. Oh well, I'll be selling the E55 when I get it back from the MB stealership and getting a C5 Z06 to replace it. Too many computer modules, CAN buses, sensors, and other electronics to go wrong it that car. I'm pretty sure they're going to bend me over for at least $3K out of pocket to fix the no-start problem (agh).

So are talkin about an 03-04 Cobra? It was between those and Vette when I was gettin a new car, decided on the Vette cuz they look better, was cheaper, and bet much better gas milage.

I already contacted George Blake. We already figured out what I need. As far as the build goes... not sure yet how long. He sounds like a goode guy who knows his stuff. I still need money for the computer and converter. I will be selling some old sy stuff soon. sorry about the hijack.

I ran across some mustang guy's trying to race anything,They want to race vs. my LS2 Datsun with a supercharged mustang cobra.
I just finished the car and we are still working out the bugs,My rpm's are not getting a propper reading so that need's to be fixed before any race.
I'm saying all this to see if your interested in smoking the cobra,its making a little over 450whp,at least thats what I was told.

We should hit the track by earlie december,I want to see what the Z can do in the 1/4.

They want to race vs. my LS2 Datsun with a supercharged mustang cobra.

You have a unique car but based on the performance I saw on the video, I wouldn't bank on smoking a S/C Cobra IF it is a 03-04 model. My brother has a modded 03 and can bust the DR's loose at will through the first 2 gears and....under boost, lays 2 patches for 5 feet in 3rd. The car is insane with only $2,300 in mods.
