I like to use Fiberflex plastic welding rods. That is what I used with my plastic welder and they seem very strong. They even bond to the bondo spreaders that nothing sticks to.

Yes I am aware it is not a west marine product, I was just stating I purchased it from there. It has worked very well for me bonding many types of materials. I've used it upside repairing trylene plastic kayaks with no runs. It's very reasonably priced and the premixing tubes work awesome. It bonds very well to anything cleaned and roughed up slightly.
