I was playing/trying to tune, stoped at light, turn green i took of at idle, wanted to see 0-40mph. This guy comes next to me and floors it. At this time, i was in second gear letting off. So i floor it, pulled ok not great. We raced side by side to 90, then i started pulling hard on him. After i looked at boost controler, the highest was 12.9psi, WOW wish it was 20psi.
Looked up his Benz, it put out 504HP motor. :rotf:

Still trying to tune..

if you're only making 13psi, and pulled hard on him after 90.....its becuase he let off. Those cars are fast at highway speeds.

r u sure he knew u 2 were racing because its more like 650 hp and 716 torque?
maybe ur thinking of the CL63?

yea that car is at its prime after traction control and the TT's get up to speed after like 3rd gear.
trust me ive driven 1 pretty hard
and it tops out (limited) at i think 140 ish

There was a SL 65 on the track this weekend. His first pass was 12.00 @ 116. His 2nd pass was 11.75 @ 120. V12 twin turbo.

The 65 is such a useless motor, the car needs twice the rubber to put any useable power down. I was driving an S65 at about 45mph when i turned off the TC and punched it. All it did was spin sideways. That car is ONLY made for status and people cruising south beach so they can act richer than the guy driving an S550 or S600. Plus AMGs philosophy is pretty skewed with that motor- lets make all this hp and tq and then use TC to dial it in? Doesn't make any sense, how about trying to put it to the ground. The 63 engine is much more usable power, though you need to keep the revs up to really feel it pull but its a pleasure to drive, especially the new CLK63 Black Series....racecar in a box and the exhaust note sounds AMAZING.

This guy did not let up till 120. I talked to him down the road as we stopped for light.
This is a 2006 model. I also had only 1/4 tank of fuel. I was very surprised myself..

Hmmm something sounds wrong here. I know my E500 V8 pulls great on the highway, but never ran it against a stock syty. I'd be surprised if one pulled me from 90+ where the sytys just begin to loose thier turbo advantage. 1/4 tank of fuel really should only be a problem on launching.

Ahh I see from your sig youve got a couple of bolt ons that should help.

2006 CLS 63 AMG:
0 - 60 mph 4.2 seconds
0 - 100 mph 11.6 seconds
0 - 1/4 mile 12.7 seconds


I still say there is no way you are running faster than 13sec 1/4 w/ a 20g at 13psi in a Ty. Have you had the truck to a track?

hmm, if it was a 2006 CLS then it wasn't a 63 cause the 2007 was the first year of the CLS63, but it could have been a 2006 CLS55. Was it the four-door coupe looking car or was it a 2-dr?

It was 4door , funny looking front and rear that slopps down.
No track yet, still tunning. I want to fix fuel starvation issue,its driving me nuts.
After that race, i found nice side street,did a 5psi powerbrake, this thing spun 1st and 2nd gears ,all fours, nice black lines.
Years ago, i had '68 Vette, i built 383 with 175hp top shot. On radials with 308 gears d.d it ran
11.76 at 119. This thing feels stronger 0-90 :tup:

The power that 65 biturbo makes stock is modest. Because a year ago I was at EuroRev and personally witnessed SL65 being tuned witch made 920WHP on pump gas. It had some Rentech stuff done to it. And unless it was well hidden I didn't see any water/alkhohol injection. Pump Gas. :myclone:

This AMG was a 5 speed auto, its a big 4door sedan no power adder, it had four tail pipes and sounded good.
Later that day, i managed to maytain 20psi 1st,2nd,and third. But with stock wg it had mind of its own.
