So I was home this past week for Thanksgiving Break. The Ty lives at home, so I hadn't seen it in a few months. I got home and opened up the garage and there was the truck with a huge bow and a Merry Christmas sign on it. At first glance, I would have sworn the thing had fresh paint on it. It was literally like liquid black. The deeper scratches gave away that it was the old paint job, but my old man did a major overhaul on the whole thing.
For those that have seen the truck, it has a metallic purple flake to it, but the clear had so many swirl marks in it (especially the hood) it was almost embarassing out in the sun. Turns out my dad and his friend buffed out the whole truck, and even stripped a small amount of clear off the hood and tailgate and such. They then hand polished the entire thing, the whole thing took over 10 hours to do.
The pictures cannot do it justice really. There is absolutely NO wax on it in these pictures, and the reflections of NJ Trees and shit throw off the way the paint looks. In the sun the truck seriously looks like the deepest purple imaginable, and in even cloudy weather looking anywhere on it is like looking at a mirror. Hopefully the weather won't be too too shitty, and it will still look good when I head down for the annual NASTE December meet. Just thought I'd share, hope you guys like.
OH, and by the way, for the first time in 2 years, the truck ran flawlessly over break! Almost made me cry the first time it actually hit 15psi -
