Chip source in canada ?

I will be deciding shortly whether to buy a chip burner or emulator
and im looking for an inexpensive chip source here in Canada

the way i see it...
emulator more expensive up front but no chips to mess with till im tuned

burrner less expensive but after a bunch of chips are done depending on the cost of them
the outlay will be close to the emulator or more expensive

I dont plan on fuel or spark tuning myself because Id rather let someone, who already has gotten their head around it, do mine for me
I do what to play with the other stuff
eg shift light - cool toy because not all applicatons are automatic
and could also be used as 12v signal for something else (as i get into it id be glad to share the results)

and of course boost control.... etc

Re: Chip source in canada ?

chips are reusable, so that isn't a big cost

Once you buy an emulator though, you don't want to go back.

You already have the flash chips from moates. So just get a flash and burn and be done with it. You will not have a ton of tuning to do on your set up so this way you will sit down and go over a datalog and make a change then you can go test it out.

Emulator is nice but you do not want to leave it in the car all the time I have had issues in the past.

Willem programmer... ~$45 (Ebay)
256k flash chip... ~$9
Moates G1 adapter ~$35

< $100, you're up and running.

Re: Chip source in canada ?

I have edited and burned a few simple things to a chip...
Id love to find a place in toronto or nearby as a source to have a couple extra
to make back to back tests.
