Also i noticed my kenne bell j&s spark retard moniter with knock and a/f doesn't work (just the a/f part) maybe o2 sensor? anyway how do i go about pulling the code(s)?

Re: Check engine light

Locate the diagnostic port under the dash.

Take a paperclip and bend it to a U shape.

Put one end in the very right terminal on the top row of the diagnostic port.

Put the other end in the terminal to the left, still on the top row.

Turn key to ON, but DO NOT START THE TRUCK!(click here to see what happens if you do)

Watch the light.

it should flash once, pause, flash twice. It will repeat that sequence two more times.

If any codes are stored, it will give them next.

If the code was 33, it will flass three times pause, and flash three more times. Then a longer pause, and repeat.

Each code is flashed three times.

Take pen and paper and write down all codes stored.

After pulling all codes, rest computer by pulling ECMB fuse for a while.

You can get a full list of the cdes here.

If you want a printed paper service manual, Helms is the one that you want. My post here has the part number for it.
