cheap scan tool to read KR etc?

who makes the least expensive way to check KR and other basic parameters on the sy/ty? something like the scanmaster like i have for my buick and ls6? Yeah, i know a laptop is best etc, just want something I can leave in car and check basic things. searched and saw some posts checking interest in a scanmaster but never saw it in use.

There was a recent thread about having scanmaster make one for SyTy's, I dont know if anything came about form it. The only other alternative I know of requires a PC (laptop). TunerPro, Scannerpro and Datamaster are the top scanning software right now.

IMO datamaster is cheap if you have a laptop already. 50$ for the cable and the program is free for the first 20 runs.
