Cats & Muffs

I've heard soo many different takes on wheather or not to remove the Cats (and rap the sensor in aluminum foil). My understanding is that the computer will not read the correct back preasure without the Converters
Or to keep the Cat & loose the mufflers?!??! Right now I got Flowmasters.

Which do you suggest?!?!!

I suggest you do some reading about Syclones and Typhoons. Sounds like you have been reading on a LS1 forum or something.

Nothing you wrote pertains directly to our trucks or makes any sense.

Rap the sensor? I hate rap

There is only one cat and there is no sensor that reads backpressure.

The are only two concerns for removing the cat and or mufflers
1)failing emissions if you have them.
2) very bad boost control problems with the stock wastegate system.

If you are stock turbo still you can leave the cat and run with no muffler. Now if you upgrade the wastegate system you can do whatever you want.

But a simple, OBD1 ecm don't have sensors behind cat...
I guess have a Chip re programmed would be too simple?

Nice way to make yourself welcoms

Remove the cat and wire/weld your wastegate shut. These engines seem to run best on 87 octane and cr43ts plugs.Make sure you run the bitchen 7mm wires from Autozone, and an aluminum dist cap.

If you ever hear a sound like marbles rattling in a coffee can, that just means the REAL power is on it's way.Just keep your foot mashed to the floorboard.

Jimmy is correct on all that but the dist cap. Use a cap off a V8 will give you a better spark.
