I didn't realize it was open this Friday. I'd come out to hang out, but the Ty isn't anywhere near done to where I'd want to drive it.

Re: Castrol Raceway friday may 1st

Relocating the battery to the back, remote mounted kill switch, K&N on the orange elbow (for now), 50lb Injectors, Walbro 255HP, bolt on AFPR, intercooler pump and 3/4" hoses, 3 bar MAP and changing out the 2" drop blocks for 1" blocks, it's too low for my fat ass. Add removing the AC and ABS also. It's already got a borla 3" exhaust on it and meth inejction, so nothing to worry about there. I'd like to try a larger turbo, something that'll be big enough for a 6.0 LQ4 if I decide to go that route down the road. It needs a new alarm before I even consider taking it out of the garage.

Shortly after I do all this, I have a feeling I'll be looking into a 4L80E. We'll see what happens. I won't be spending any money on the 4L60E, not worth it in my opinion.

Wow thats alot to take on at one time but will be sweet when its done  the 4L80E is great but works out to about a 5 grand touch when i had priced it out, coming out to watch friday?

Re: Castrol Raceway friday may 1st

I meant that after I do all that, I'll likely NEED a 4L80E as I'm sure to blow something up :) I come from the land of DSM's, I'm no stranger to bleeding all over my vehicles! I have a 4L80E already out at the farm, I just have to get it rebuilt and put it all together. I'm thinking of a manual valve body and ratchet shifter... am I whacked? Nolan advised me against a trans brake... I may try a hydroboost setup first with the 60E and see what I can wreck on the truck.

Re: Castrol Raceway friday may 1st

Just upgrade to the vette brakes and put in 5/8 rear wheel cylinders , i was told mine can hold 20psi before it starts to creep but have not had a chance to take it past about 8, other then the horsepower the brakes have to be my next favorite

Re: Castrol Raceway friday may 1st

No new/larger master cylinder is required for the vette brakes? Hydroboost is really cheap and easy, plenty of astrovans at pick your part. Looks like you can just buy new lines that fit an old malibu that'll fit almost perfect.

Right now mine pulls of the brakes at 4-5 psi. Sucks :)

I'll likely come out friday to watch. Not much else to do.

It was good meeting you two, Cam and Matt! Wait, DAMN you two for getting me even more hooked!

I look forward to many beers and good times working on and racing these things! If anyone ever needs a hand with anything, let me know, I'm there.
