Carrera 4

Im not sure where this model stands in the Porsche world but after picking up a movie last nithgt and raping 2 SRT-4's at the same time, I came across a pastel yellow Carrera 4. There was about 5 people crammed into this car. Looked like a bunch of highschool kids going to a party. I knew he wanted to run cause he kept trying to keep up with me through traffic after I blew off on him. So on a long straight away he guns it comin up behind me and so do I. AAt first he was comin up pretty good then I started walking away. I think I actually got him pretty good. So I let off and hit the brakes and he actually does a ricer fly by and then hits the hazards on me. I couldnt belive it. Then he turned off.

Re: Carrera 4

Nice kill but the Carrera 4 is simply a 3.6 naturally aspirated car (I will assume it was a 1997 or newer for obvious reasons). The 4 designates it as AWD. Bottom line is that they are so-so off the line if driven right but the clutch doesn't hold well after getting hot. They accellerate so-so because the drivetrain adds excess weight to them. They brake and handle in the superior range so don't tangle with one in the curves :). I had a Carrera 3.2 and a 911 Turbo. Both performed well for what they were but neither one was impressive off the line. Nothing like dusting off a european exotic with pure American muscle though. Keep up the good work there!

Yeah I wasnt sure what a Carrera was all about. I knwo I got raped once by a Porsche that just said turbo on the back. Guy driving it said it was twin with AWD. It was pretty damn fast but we didnt race from a light.

Re: Carrera 4

My g/f's uncle just bought a new carrera and he let me drive it (surprisingly) and it didn't feel that strong. Turning wise and handling it felt awesome, but acceleration wasn't very good. My Ty could have taken it easily I think. Funny thing is, my g/f's aunt would rather ride in my Typhoon then in her husbands porsche just for the launches

I thought he said there were five people in the car? That would make a huge difference.

So does having 3 people in a TY. And its a truck, I expected a little more form a Porsche no matter waht model it is.

Re: Carrera 4

If you ever want to feel REAL SUPERIOR to a Porsche, race a Porsche 924.....nuff said! The newer turbo 998 runs 3.8 0-60 times on wet roads. The slightly older 996 runs 4.1 0-60. I'm fairly sure one of those is what you ran up against. They are twin turbo w/AWD and don't slouch in any regard but on the other hand, for $118,000, they shouldn't.
