carpet for my trunk

i would like to do the trunk of my camaro in a factory looking carpet. gonna put 2 nitrous bottles 1 on each side and a power amp in the middle and use a space saver donut type tire and mount it deep in the back of the trunk at an angle. i would like to find a carpet that matches the inside of the car and then do the old glue spray thing to lay it down and form it around the edges and stuff and also make a little cover for the spare.

does anyone have any ideas where i can get carpet like is in the car? i was thinkin maybe the carpet manufactured would just sell me a big sheet that i can cut myself to form, or maybe find a upholstery place that would have matching carpet and get a big piece from them.

anyone have any ideas or suggestions on where to get auto carpeting? i need black

Re: carpet for my trunk

I dont know if any of the restoration companies sale carpet for the trunks.

But I'd check out Year One, and a few of those places. But like I said, it might have to be a custom thing for the trunk. Unless you happen to fall apon it in your searchings. :dunno: Any local hot rod shops around you? They might be able to help out.

Re: carpet for my trunk

Les,

The last GN parts car that I recently bought came with a Poston's or the like, trunk kit.....that kit was nothing more than cut-to-fit 1/4" thick ply/particle board, with cheap carpet glued to it.....they also used velcro to hold it to the car in places....on the two humps (wheel wells) in the trunk, they just glued the carpet directly to the sheet metal using contact cement....Let me know if you need pics or I can better explain this by phone....Any decent upholsterer should be able to pull this off for little money....
