Hey everyone,

Nolan and I would really like to have some sort of gathering this summer. I thought we might as well start planning early for it.

We were thinking later in the summer, July or August some time. What would work with everybody?

This won't be a big elaborate sort of thing unless a few people want to step up and make it so. I think Nolan and I will be busy enough with trucks as it is.

I was thinking some sort of day at the track, a car show of sorts, cruise, dinner, etc? Lets hear everyones thoughts.

Will you Calgary and BC people travel to attend? Maybe some Montana or NWSTP people would like to come as well?

Okay, lets hear some suggestions.

I vote for Mission in late Fall. Easy for the NWSTP crew to get there, we can track down the B.C. owner's we know of and it's not that far from Calgary (well...a lot closer than Edmonton or Grande Prairie ) Plus, most everyone attending would have a chance to set a new PB at the track.

My second vote goes to Calgary. I think they outnumber us down there. Besides by later in the Summer I'll be ready for a change of view at another track.

I'm in. For me it doesn't really matter where it's held (closer would be better), but I would be up for a road trip when the Syclone is back on the road, 8)

I'd be up for a meet anywhere suggested, Calgary/Edmonton would be cool, I've been wanting to go for a road trip in the Sy.

Of course if you all want to come out here to BC (Mission Raceway) that would work just fine for me. The road trip would be a heck of a bunch shorter since the track is only about 20 min. away from me.

Hopefully I can get the Sy running right by then, havent had any time to work on it lately.

I'm in for sure, but you guy's probably already knew that!

Doesn't matter when or where, but with our tie's to Budwieser Motorsports Park here in Edmonton we my get better hospitality and a few perks that we may not get somewhere else. Just a thought.

I'll come.. I've been wanting an excuse to take a 2 day trip out and see the Prairies.

I'm thinking that here in Edmonton is the place. It is the most central for all the alberta people, we have some "pull" with the track people, and well., I live here.

Cam, maybe you could talk to Fred or someone and see what dates are available, or just how we could fit into another event.

What dates would work for everyone that wants to come? What sorts of things would people want to do anyway?

Just a track day, some sort of car show?

Depending on when we do this I could talk to some local clubs to see if we could join another show to make it a bit more interesting. I'm thinking maybe the dropsicles or maybe the mainstreet cruisers or Hot august nights in St albert.

I'd like to make the local Buick people a part of this as well. It always fun to talk with other boostaholics. :wink: For that matter anyone who is a syty fan is more than welcome to show up. Gord bring that SS up here so you can get a butt kickin


Lets hear everyones thoughts. We are going to need some help organizing this deal. I'd like to get an early start because with all these local trucks in the works Nolan and I are gonna be crazy busy come spring.

Well, spring time would work best for me. We're just thinking of kind of a weekend thing right? Perhaps a long weekend to make it easier for those of us that have to travel. I dont know how that would work with a track, I'm sure they've got stuff booked on long weekends, but maybe you guys can work something out.

One other thing, when is the 2004 SyTy nats? We prob dont want to have this meet too close to the Nats just so if anyone wants to go to both its not such a financial burden all at once. Just a thought there. Oh and those of you that know your shat, get ready for a bunch of questions from us 'noobies' (if you dont mind that is)

I'll check with the track to see what dates are available.

I think a day at the track, car show of sorts while at the track, and a cruise somewhere that night would be cool. But for those that have to travel maybey we sould split it into two days.

Hmmm... I may be driving through that way toward the end of next summer... It would be nice to see a few SyTys on the way. I'll have to keep watching this...

I was thinking that we should contact the guys that organize the gn meet at sylvan lake and set up something with those guys. Or we could set something up at on of the 100' drag meets they have a car show with those and we could kick ass.

Well summer is finally here!!!!!!!!!!!!

So let's get this planned so it gives everyone enough time to get organized.

Let's shoot for July or August(if you have prior plans for parts of those months post a reply so we can try to plan around it)

It will be a 2 day event with track time car show, criuse etc.(with details to follow)

If you have any suggestion let hear them, also if your planning on attending please post so we have an idea of how many are coming.

We want to try to get this planned in the next couple weeks.

I'm definately in for the meet but for me it can't be any earlier than July 24. Anytime afterwards is cool.

I'm thinking sometime during the weekend of theJuly30-Aug 2, because the 2nd is a holiday it will give those who have to travel more time.

Most anytime should work for me. May want to invite the Buick guys for a better turnout. They've been talking about organizing a track day for sometime now anyways, and I don't want to have to travel to Calgary to take part.

Well I'd love to come out and meet up with you guys but I've already got plans for Aug. long weekend (July 30 to Aug. 2) If it's any other weekend I'd definatly make arrangements to come out, maybe the Sy will be running better by then

It looks like it's probably going to be July 25(sunday), Aug 7(sat) or Aug 21(sat). Those are the track times that will work the best for us to get the most runs in. I'll be finding out in the next few days.

So it looks like we won't be able to do it on a long weekend to help those who need to travel.

Do we want to do a 2 day meet?

I'm in for inviting the buick guys, if they come what kind of #'s are we looking at? Because were already gonna be sharing the track.

I want to say a dozen or so Buicks all told. Could be anywhere from 8 to 20 first time out. I'll have to get someone else to organize that end of it though since I just don't have the time. Once you settle on a date I'll make some calls.
