Caltracs or BattleBars

I'm looking to get a set of traction bars for my Typhoon. Has another used Caltracs and Battlebars to compare them? My Ty has run in the mid 11's but the 60' times are always inconsistant and I'm hoping with the traction bars and front end limitors that the times will become a little lower and more consistant. Any and all opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Nick

Re: Caltracs or BattleBars

Battle bars don't require removal of the front spring shackle. When I talked to him Battle Bars wern't going to be avail 'till Feb. Maybe the timing is right. I've heard they work great. Heard nothing bad about caltracs either.

Although I havent bought either (yet..) I myself will go with Battle Bars. Only because TT350 actually post's on this board and helps members out, its only fair that we help him out (As well as any other vendor on this site. ) by buying his parts that he's designed and made for us to use.

I already have front end limiters, all I need are the battle bars and I hope my 60's drop by a good .06-.08. Who knows though. lol

I have caltracs with front end limiters.....HUGE improvement on keeping the truck level and going straight while losing very little traction on street tires.

Not 100% sure about the Battle Bars but if your truck is lowered or you have fiberglass springs like the Flex-A-Forms, I have heard (just heard mind you) that they aren't recomended. I do run Flex-A-Forms (3" lowered) and didn't want to take a chance on it. The Caltracs can be run with any spring and are even recommended for the Flex-A-Forms and they have a low profile Caltracs for lowered trucks!

I have 3" drop springs on my sy and battle bars they work great.(well when the truck was running)
I had been getting to the 60' in 1.58-60 on real radials and then swithced to the battle bars and nitto's and now I 60' in the high 1.4x.

I'm running stock suspention right now with a 1" drop block in the rear. So there is no one out there that has run the Caltracs first then switched to Battle Bars? Or someone who has a Sy and Ty and have bars on both of them? Anyone?
Thanks for all of the comments guys I appreciate it.

Re: Caltracs or BattleBars

I went with the battlebars since my truck is mainly street driven/raced.. and a few friends with caltracs always seem to have some chatter or noises with there caltracs but they do love the way they perform.. don't know anybody that has tried both though

Re: Caltracs or BattleBars

I did end up ordering a set of Battle Bars. I got a call from Chris at CBR last night telling me that the bars would not be available for another month or two b/c he is waiting for parts from another supplier. I thought it was great that someone from the company called me directly and told me about the delay. I'm in no rush for my part b/c its winter here and the track isnt open until April/May. I will let everyone know when I get my bars and how they work once I get the truck to the track.
