Grabbed some pics from mine in the garage. Case came out of a 1993 Typhoon that was being parted out back in 2010. I do not have the VIN or any other info (bought it from RPM). I do have the front diff as well if that will help any.

That case is out of Sy 1567.

Here's four more from my fleet:

EDIT: This first t-case is unknown as to what it was originally installed in. But the TAG is the original 93 #498's t-case tag. I don't remember transfering the tag to this case, but I obviously did, as the serial number is the one listed for #498. I have "Matching Numbers". Ha!

Unknown original installation. Now in 93 #498. Tag confirmed original to #498.

can you confirm that 15675818 number again. That number doesn't seems to exist as a GM part number, I definitely dont have it on my list as an existing 4472 part number.
2918 below makes sense, but 5818 is a total mystery.

My guess is its an Astro/Safari or '91 Bravada case if you said it was a 27 spline :tup:

i have a 92 and a 94 bravada t-case around here some where. idk if the info will be much help to you. let me know if you want me to check them out.

at this point, I'd like to get some non-syty cases traced out so that Bravada info would be great, the SyTy stuff has pretty much fallen into place, all I really need on them is tailshaft numbers just to see if there were any variations during the production run or if someone has a mystery truck and needs info on it.

I read it wrong in the mirror. Correct number is 15672918.

Years ago I was involved with an Astro at my friend's Reno transmission shop. The T-case was never reassembled, he got a replacement from a yard. I took a few bits from the old case home with me. This tag could have come from that case, but I do not remember.

I have "most" of the information I need to make a well sorted informational post, but there are still a few cases out there I need more information on, but not SyTy cases.

I'd love to eventually find all the tag information on the Bravada and Astro cases but its not overly important.

Please feel free to keep posting information on the cases in your trucks, especially if they ARE NOT original to your truck, either from another SyTy or from another GM Vehicle, thats really want I'm looking for now. :tup:

Hey Capt'. Finally got the numbers off my transfer case that is in the truck. Tag looks like this:

010491 4472-01
125232 15648651

I'll get the casting numbers today. I already posted the the original t-case. This is a replacement bought some years ago from Ray.

So officially what transfer cases will work in a typhoon? What year bravada or astro ?
