I don't know how you could 'tuck' the fronts. Especially if you want to keep your sway bar intact on turns. Maybe if you add the spacer to the rear, it would help balance the overall look...

I know that my fronts are a standard C6 size and offset, and they are closer to the cladding.

Hey Ted looks great!

You could easily fix the fronts by having a machine shop mill the inside face of the wheels down some. Easy fix, but finding a place to do it might be tough.

If you can't get them to fit right in the front, I'm sure you could round up two aftermarket GS front wheels with a better offset.

It appears he would need at least 1.5" milled off. My concern would be that it may weaken the structural integrity of the hub mounting area and pose a failure risk under a "G" load.

If they're +40mm and he wants to go to +56mm that's 16mm or roughly 2/3 of an inch.

I understand what you're saying and I totally agree, I'm not a structural engineer so I wouldn't begin to guess what's an acceptable amount to take off, but if it was me I would guesstimate at least half that distance wouldn't be a problem (that's purely my opinion from selling wheels for years and seeing the variances in wheel thicknesses) at all if not all of depending on the thickness of the wheel.

Re: C6 GrandSport Z06 Wheels

Thanks for the compliments. According to this reproduction website The wheels are 18x9.5" + 40mm front and 19x12 + 59mm rear.
If the fronts had an offset around +56 mm they should bolt up just like my zr1s but they dont.
Any ideas on how to tuck the front wheels in about half an inch without some serious modifications, if at all possible?

I have some pics from another member with the C6 wheels on his Ty. The offsets are definitely different. The fronts sit in more, and you need a 1" wheel adapter in the rear.

C6 wheels and GS wheels are totally different. The GS wheels are basically C6 Z06 wheels in a different design.

Yup, removing that much material from the mounting surface will seriously compromise the strength of the wheel. There's no way I'd drive around on them after that.

Even if you wanted to remove only a couple mm from the mounting surface, it might be difficult doing so because a lot of wheel shops won't even do a very small amount. It all depends on how much material there is to *safely* machine. Also, they need to see if the wheel will even fit squarely in the lathe chuck. If the spokes protrude farther than the 'lip', most of the time it can't be done.

Yea, apparently so...which kind of sucks. I really like the GS wheels, but I would definitely want them to fit more flush up front.

Re: C6 GrandSport Z06 Wheels

This site says they have an 18x8.5" + 56mm front wheel that should work. I would rather have a narrower wheel up front to reduce the amount that a wider wheel rubs on turns and grabs on grooves. This project will be on hold for me for awhile due to added costs but at least you guys get to see some mock up pictures.

These have been taking up space in my garage and it is time to move them. I listed them for sale locally and would prefer to not have to mess with shipping them but if anyone is interested in them feel free to make me an offer.
The fronts stick out to far out on a syty. Read through the thread for details.

Re: C6 GrandSport Z06 Wheels

On those rears that are 19x12 +59 offset did you have to get spacers and longer studs to work?

Re: C6 GrandSport Z06 Wheels

The rears bolted on fine without modifications. But i never drove with them the tires come real close to rubbing the frame.

I have Centennials Z06 wheels on the rear of my truck and yes you have to run a spacer. It's also recommended to run studs as well so the stock ones don't sheer off.

I haven't had any problems with mine as of yet and In the media/ videos section you can see me launching the hell out of the truck on 345 nitto Invos.
