Re: BS3 Install on stock Typhoon

It's a stock 75-72 group, I have those gold plated battery lugs with the bolt ends to connect the BS3 eyelets. Worked like a charm.

Great to hear it's alive!!

Not sure where you got with the starter program, but here's a thought; when I bought my truck, the existing combination had been tuned in Code59. I was able to get the files that were running in Code59 and then using Tunerpro I copied the timing tables out to excel and then translated them to be used on the XFI (the scaling was close but not exactly the same).

Since your truck is stock, you might just download TunerPro and download the stock bins (or an upgraded stock bin) to get some good base timing tables. It's not going to be exact, but it's a good enough starting point to get you close to zero.

Re: BS3 Install on stock Typhoon

This "stuff" is super easy to tune, after the starting dilema learning the dealer setting's had not been configured to HEI. I have spent several hours a session reading more and more of this 130pg user manual from Bs3. I keep learning more and more and finding new options and configurations making datalogging/tuning super retarded easy. If you can read the manual you can tune, considering you know the timing/boost limits of your engine. The lock up works great like stock and all I lack is wiring up the A/C. Worth every penny I spent! Doing a stand alone Bs3 would be the first thing I would do to a stock SyTy, beside the coilovers. Getting ready for some racing on the 23rd so hopefully I'll be back with some good #'s.

LOL, I've got her running pretty strong sense that visit to SAR. I've fixed the lean out AFR in the shifts and changed to UR6 plugs running 18-19psi on pump 93 with 14* timing. Plugs are looking great! I want to take it to Baytown soon before I add some more timing. Looking for a 12.50, the 20g and stock IC will keep it out of the 11's. The Ty is my DD right now so hitting the track right now is not a priority for me until I get a new trans back into my 4x4 jimmy

I am having a boosting issue with my Typhoon. I have found the following mods: upgraded turbo, fuel rail, fuel pressure regulator, 3 inch exhaust, no cat, ATR pitbull chip w/Ultimate box (piggy back) and aftermarket boost contorller. I think the fuel pump has been changed, because it's pretty loud...

I have installed a new timing chain/gear, dist, wires, plugs and rotor cap/button, IAC valve. it will boost initially, but the power tapers off. I have changed the chip to a stock chip and tried using the boost silenoid, but it only makes like 2 or 3 lbs of boost. I ran the on spring pressure, but I think it's been changed as well. I checked the static pressure w/vaccum it's around 50lbs w/out it's like 70

When looking at the DM, It's only loosing a few degrees of timing.... I did notice a large amount of knock. I have no DTC. I am looking at removing the factory ECM and use an aftermarket system. What are your thoughts as to what's happening with my trk.. I plan to remove the turbo and have it checked out.

Sounds like the tune is way off. Why don't you make sure you can get it running properly before considering a aftermarket ecu as the fix.

Try a stock chip with 2bar map sensor. Setup the wastegate in stock form/ spec and set the fuel pressure between 42-48psi with the vac line off the regulator and go from the. If you have knock retard then it's pulling timing.
