By pure chance I noticed an auction with a Syclone. I dropped by a half hour early to take a look and tried to talk myself out of another project, but the little devil whispered in my ear that it saw a monoleaf conversion, battery relocation, A2A intercooler and piping, MSD coil, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, cold air intake kit and full 3 inch exhaust. The angel on my other shoulder slapped me in the head and stated that it was smacked in the front, and would need not only new sheet metal, but cladding repairs and who knows what else as well. The devil smacked the angel off my shoulder and said that the bumper, while hit, did not take a real hit and the frame horn and bumper mounts looked just fine. With little time left, I started "negotiating" with the auctioneer. I waived to the auctioneer that it was just getting too expensive and somehow I now owned it.
Ebay happened to have a bumper and cover being auctioned as well (and I won for once), there was a mint, 2wd shortbed S10 for 300 bucks on craigslist and my trailer was empty, So there I was shoving my wife's rig outside and removing the front clip from the S10 donor.
An hour or so of work was also put into the Sy last night so that I could get that front clip off tonight, which worked out well. I am going to have to paint the intercooler piping black. The red reminded me of red wiring loom.
I also found out it just had a new engine installed this fall as well. I need to find out what compression/pistons he used and if it was the original block or if it was some "rebuilder special". If it checks out good, then I'll just replace the water pump for good measure, since the fan hit the radiator and start cleaning the engine and components up. The radiator support looks correct, except the opening for the radiator is a little smaller. I fill remedy that before I sand and paint the support. Anybody think there will be a problem running a 84 4 banger core?
