Brand new prompaq chip still in the box neverbeen installed or even opened. brought new back in like 95 for 813 bucks. should be a awsome chip for someones syty. 1000 bucks shipped anywhere in the 48 states. $1000. PM with questions or other offers. Trades welcome,

actually isn't it a box that allows you to flip between a few different installed chips..

yeah i wish i had one than. the old man that bought the truck new bought all sorts of cool stuff for the truck, mostly simple little kenny bell add ons. he never installed them or drove the truck. sadly he didi his damege to it beening old and forgetful.


yeah this does et you bounce between chips. sorry my mistake. it took my a while to find much of anything about the prompaq period.

You have the receipt, its brand new technically, its not made anymore, the Marlboro Syclones had them, and yes, they make chips that can do that and more, but they simply dont have the cool factor that the prompaq does.

Its like all vintage items, the right buyer just needs to come along.:tup:

They were a unique gadget for the time. They'd let you plug 4 memcals in, and you'd have a dash-mounted keyswitch to switch between them. You could also put 1 MEMCAL in and just use eproms for the other locations.

As has been mentioned, there are other products out there doing this now, but it was the only game in town for a while.

It should work on *any* MEMCAL-cased ECM ('749/730/others).

It's a rare thing to have a new unused one. Your market will the the Marlboro guys, looking for a spare.
They're not made anymore.

You probably can get your money back and then some if the Marlboro guys see it. :D
That's pocket change for those guys.

I had a new one in the box. Believe I paid $500 for it from KB. Sold it for a little more than that in the late 90's. Had a used one off another truck and got $400 for it sometime ago too. Cool unit.

Its been fun modding my newest Syclone with a lot of the older parts I saved from KB and ATR.
Easier than trying to make some of the things. Lot of the pics I see of current Sy's and Ty's engines don't really have that clean look locationally of all their parts. Like a lot of the older parts allowed.

I'd hate to have to buy all the memcals to use it. Then again, I don't have a marlboro either.:(

yeah i got this and alot of KB stuff for the truck. the old man spent close to like 7 grand back in the day on mods and never opened them. when i had my typhoon it was hard to mod like you said it also didnt look aas clean,

One was in my Sy when I bought it. It had the stock and a KB chip in it, an empty slot, and one with a security chip. The key switch had five positions, including "limp home" mode, if I recall. I later added an ATR chip, and didn't really use the other chips except security,

The keyswitch was mounted where the cigarette lighter would normally be. My stereo got stolen and the wires yanked out, and the truck wouldn't start anymore, so I removed the Prompaq.
