The bracket that holes the remote filter oil lines coming off of the block close together and connects to the power steering pump at the bottom underneigh the alt bracket.. do I have to keep this bracket? if not what could some of the problems be that could possibly occur or develope? If there arn't any cons to this i'd like to keep the bracket off to help save weight but most importanly because i've already bout the alt bracket, power steering pump, pulley and alt all back in and it would be a huge bitch to reinstall this bracket now without taking everything back off again.

Thanks

Ryan

think you need it on there to support the hard lines. I was able to put mine on after the pump install? Unless I did it wrong it goes on the lower front hole on the pump with a short bolt and nothing was in the way.

I would say use it. Really what will end up happening is that they lines will vibrate nd cause them to twist which will end up causing the crimp ends to leak. A set of those lines cost about $85. When they start to leak you cant stop them.

Well I can say this, I recently found out that this bolt was missing on my truck. I have owned it two years now and I know the mods that are on it were done in 2001 so I would assume that it was left out then. I have had no problems but I did notice something after I found out this bolt was missing. Not only does it give support to the lines but it draws it further away from the exhaust crossover. Just that point alone would make me want to put it back in.

You know.. yesterday when I was jerking with the volvo fan some I looked down and thought about that very same idea of how that little bracket actually holds the hard lines away from the crossover then if I had just left it off.. Thought it was just me though
