Boost Solenoid Vacuum???

I am replacing the vac lines in the Ty and noticed the third port on the boost solenoid should have some type of filter because it appears to be a vent port. The filter clip is still on the vac port (bottom port on drivers side solenoid) but the foam is gone. What can I use to replace the foam?

My idea is one of those "bug-remover" automotive sponges. They are kinda coarse, and it looks like the same filter material that was in mine (dunno if mine had the stock filter in place or not - it was oil soaked).

im thinking about on a regular 4.3 i think its on the passenger side of th tbi there is some kind ob black sensor or something like that that has a round cap on the end of it if you remove that cap there is some kind of filter in there that im sure you can shave it down to make it the same size my sy had that filter missing for years and its still like that
